Imagine you have a high resolution monitor, keyboard, mouse and two or more computers you'd like to connect to them, one at a time. Typically you'd use a KVM switch, but for a high resolution monitors they are very expensive and don't work that well. If you still have your old KVM for low resolution monitors then you can still use it to switch keyboard/mouse, while connect two or even three computers to different inputs of your high resolution monitor, then with the switcher you have a convenient way of switching the monitor input between your computers instead of going through the multitude of button clicking on the monitor itself.
The "Switch Monitor Input" application/tool is a freeware. The setup for Windows can be downloaded here: SwitchMonitorInputSetup.msi To read/write comments about this application and/or to leave bug reports, go to: Switch Monitor Input - comments
